So . . . what advice does anyone have for someone who manages to strip out the drain plug? I soaked it in pb blaster, then hhtought it woukd break open. It didn't. Plug is stripped. This happened, of course, after i had drained the diff and j stalled a new gasket.

What I did was removed the rubber vent hose on top of the axle and poured 3 qts of gear oil in that way. Don't ask me how long it took. A long time.

So, now what? Let it ride for another 30k-50k miles, then get someone to weld a nut onto the drain plug and get it off?

Any problems will filling the diff through the vent tube hole (other than taking forever)?
