    Shooting bench

So I got to thinking bout a shooting bench my dad & I had made YEARS ago and had in the woods behind dad's house. It was a beotch getting it back there balancing it on a wheel barrow.

I texted my dad to see if he would mind me coming to get it to take to my buddy's range near my house. Dad said "I haven't laid eyes on that bench in a long time, and don't expect me to help you get it out of the woods."

So this morning on my way to work, I stopped by dad's to take a morning walk in the woods...its still intact...just needs a power washing. Squirrels have chewed on it over the years...here are some pics...

Now the task of removal...like stated above, we wheel barrowed it in there and that was downhill along my old motorcycle path (which is now over grown). I took a screen shot on my phone of its location in Google maps...

My buddy has a side by side UTV with a rear bed...I'm thinking we do a Lil path clearing and haul this sucker out of there on the UTV?

Nice! I definitely wouldn't want to get it back out with a wheelbarrow! The utv should work. Love homemade shooting benches!!

So do y'all remember this thread? Well if not scroll up...if so read on...

Last Wednesday I retrieved the bench from the woods behind my dad's house. Loaded up on my cargo tray...

Too top heavy, so laid it on it's side...

Took it to car wash and $4.50 later it was pressure washed, then hauled it to my driveway behind my house...

Shot my pellet gun from it, zeroing in the new red/green dot scope...

Then my daughter shot her .22LR from it...

Today I gave it some rehab love...first was demo off the old top and seat boards...

New boards had frost on them... freaking 14°F this morning and only warmed up to 24°F today...

And then the new top & seat boards were done...

I even routed the edges of the new boards...

    And that's what happened X-ray...
